Polyneuropathy

Polyneuropathy is a condition in which multiple peripheral nerves on both sides of the body become damaged or dysfunctional leading to a variety of symptoms. Polyneuropathy can affect sensory and motor functions as well as the autonomic nerves responsible for involuntary functions. Polyneuropathy can manifest in various ways with varying degrees of severity. Treating an underlying condition usually alleviates symptoms. Relief can also be obtained through certain medications, alternative therapies and lifestyle changes.
